Gospel musician and preacher Sonnie Badu has expressed strong concerns over the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on spirituality. In a social media post on May 7, 2025, he warned that AI could eventually challenge the relevance of God and overtake places of worship.  “Artificial Intelligence will contend with God, and very soon they’ll say God is no longer needed,” he stated.

Badu emphasized the urgent need for spiritual leaders and believers to rise and counterbalance AI’s spread with discernment and divine guidance. “If we don’t rise, soon even church temples will be taken over by AI,” he cautioned.

He argued that the sons of God must take spiritual positions to restrain the overreach of human intelligence. According to Badu, technological progress without spiritual grounding poses a deep risk to faith and the church.

Quoting scripture, he added, “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying.”

In his closing remarks, Badu noted that creators and inventors often shape the future, but warned that this must not come at the cost of spiritual values. “There must be a balance,” he said. “This is just a son of Issachar telling you the time and season we are stepping into.”
