Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale has expressed frustration after businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye announced his decision to retire at the age of 40.
The controversial statement has sparked a public exchange between the two figures.
Shatta Wale took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to voice his discontent over Quaye’s announcement.
The businessman, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Quick Angels and Board Chairman of Bills Micro Credit, revealed that he would step down from his roles to focus on personal pursuits and prepare for retirement.
In his message, Shatta Wale questioned Quaye’s intentions, calling for him to reverse his decision.
He warned the 40-year-old billionaire that he would not succeed in his actions and urged him to reconsider.
His post, which was laden with frustration, read: “#RNAQ what you are trying to do to me you won’t win so stop it… Otherwise when I flip…”
Shatta Wale’s post quickly gained traction, sparking laughter and reactions in the comment section.
Many social media users noted that Shatta could also opt to retire without starting a feud.
Some comments highlighted that the situation didn’t warrant such an angry response from the musician, questioning why he felt compelled to react to Quaye’s retirement decision.
Richard Quaye’s retirement has caught the public’s attention as it follows a pattern of influential figures stepping back from active roles at a relatively young age.
While Quaye plans to explore new ventures, Shatta Wale’s response raises questions about competition and the pressure to maintain relevance in their respective fields.
